Huffington Post Cross-Reference
Before "Positively Star", the Huffington Post was the only place a big mouth like me could sound off in an environment of...well, dignity. I still consider them my "family," so they have graciously allowed me to intro this blog on their site. Click here for my post on HuffPo.

Your comments are welcome as long as they are in keeping with the spirit of this blog. They must be positive about your life, your community, our nation or our world. They must elevate...not denigrate...and if you criticize me or my position...state your name and email address so I know who you are and can address you directly. My blog...my rules. Star

ReplyDeleteGood morning. I read your post on HuffPo and decided to give your blog a look. I am glad I did. This is good stuff! I want to include a post I made to someone that didn't quite get what you were trying to say on HuffPo. Don't worry, I was nice...
ReplyDelete"While I agree with you that there is only one race, the human race, you are completely off base in asserting that "there is only one gender in biblical scholarship." From Genesis, chapter one: "26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male AND female created he them." I capitalized "and" for emphasis. One race, yes. One gender, no.
"The social reality in America is we are very much into tribalism. If that were not so, racism could not exist. It is OK for Star Jones to desire to speak positively to members of her tribe. She has made it clear that she has no intentions of denigrating ANYONE ELSE. If she was a race-bating, man-hating, fear monger, I'd be inclined to agree with you. Since she isn't, perhaps you should should reconsider your point of view. Or not. It is, after all, a free country."
Keep your head to the sky Star!
That's how I found you, on HuffPo. Your thoughts on positive living are needed. It's how I try to live too! http://muttslikeme.wordpress.com/
