A Mother

A Mother is one who understands the things you say and do
I created this blog on the occasion of my 47th Birthday in March 2009 to celebrate what is blessed, good, smart, stimulating, interesting, inspiring, fun, joyous and positive in my life, my community, our country and our world. I vow to only elevate those thoughts, words and deeds of my gender and my race that are examples of excellence and something we can all aspire to! Happy Birthday to me!
Your comments are welcome as long as they are in keeping with the spirit of this blog. They must be positive about your life, your community, our nation or our world. They must elevate...not denigrate...and if you criticize me or my position...state your name and email address so I know who you are and can address you directly. My blog...my rules. Star
I did not realize you had a blog...
ReplyDeletekeep uplifting and empowering women!
It's great when women support each other!
I wish to commend you on your choices and I must agree that they are phenomenal~! They are strong, but delicate...They go forward, but never get in the way...I should like to add another to the mix..Maya Angelou. Your blog is lovely, Ms. Jones...

Wow, I like that poem. Week before last I tweeted that I was looking for a poem to read at my mom's 96th birthday party. I must have read 30-40 poems but I could not find the perfect one. I finally found one that was short and sweet and I'm sure she enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have to name names, but any woman who is inspiring and empowering women the world over are the ones I deeply admire. These women are making the world a better place for their children especially their daughters. These are the women that I greatly admire. You want hear their names in the mainstream media, but only in the global media sources. We tend to concentrate on the celebrity and not those that are deemed as less popular. We've got a whole generation of younger American women who know nothing about lifting up one another. It's a sad reality that all they know is tearing down one another. Their lives seem to be only derived from the superficial and nothing else. Will we ever have the courage to change this reality and let them know that there is also room at the top for them? When we educate a woman, she can and will change the world.
