Prayer for Safety of our President

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

Psalm 27:5 NIV

I'm increasingly awestruck by the dangerous and vitriolic rhetoric that is being espoused against President Barack Obama. It is more than criticism of a policy that there may be disagreement with; it is vicious, racist, hate-filled speech that in some cases rise to the level of threats that are actually against the law. Numerous news reports have stated that threats against the life of President Obama are significantly higher than those against his recent predecessors to the office of The Presidency. I am not going to detail the threats here, because to do so gives oxygen to a fire that needs to be doused like a cleansing rain. Instead, I'm going to offer a prayer of safety for the President, his family and ask all of you to join me in binding the demon of hate in the blood of Jesus.

The Secret Service is doing their job protecting the President, but we believers in the power of prayer need to do ours.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for being the God who is in control of everything. As the world seems to spin out of control we realize daily we are not in control – You are. Lord, keep us safe from ourselves and protect us from the evil schemes of the devil. I pray that you watch over all of us, our families, and our children. But, Lord I ask a special prayer of safety for your servant Barack Obama.

Lord we lift up to you at this moment the Obama family and ask you to keep the President safe as he does the job he has been called to do.

You have commanded that we " Love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us." I, together with other believers take on that commandment and join in prayer that your truth be revealed to those in darkness.

May it be known all over the world, that Satan, the prince of darkness is real! He disguises himself as the light, entrapping and hauling the unprepared. He spreads the seeds of disruption, then sits back, waiting to gather the crop. As good people draw nearer to walking in Jesus' steps, they also draw the evil of Satan's attacks. Lord, protect our President from such great evil. Let not Satan or his fiends approach him. Keep him under Your harmonious auspice, for he is a follower of righteousness!

We, as believers do not claim to be workers of wonders for you Father are the only one who answers prayers. We are humbly asking for your gracious mercy and your cloak of the Holy Spirit. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. "

You know our every need Lord and we thank you for that. We thank you for being the place we can run to for safety, refuge and shelter. We pray this prayer, we bind evil and cast it away. Hear our prayers, Lord and please keep our President's heart tuned in to You as he dwells in the shelter of Your tabernacle.
